🔐
Account Security
0/4
Use a strong, unique password
Your crypto account password should be different from every other password you use. A password manager makes this easy.
Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA)
Use an authenticator app rather than SMS if you can. This is one of the most important steps you can take.
Never log in on public or shared devices
Public computers and shared devices are a common way accounts get compromised. Stick to devices you control.
Bookmark your exchange URL
Fake websites that look identical to real ones are a common scam. Go directly from your bookmark, not from search results or links.

Buying Safely
0/3
Use a reputable, well-known exchange
Stick to established platforms with clear fees, real customer support, and strong security track records. Avoid random apps or links from messages.

Check the fees before you buy
Trading fees, payment method fees, and spreads all add up. Know what you are paying before you confirm the transaction.

Start with a small amount
Your first purchase should be an amount you are comfortable losing entirely. You are learning how the process works, not investing your savings.

Storing Your Crypto
0/3
Understand where your crypto is stored
On an exchange (custodial) or in your own wallet (self-custody)? Both are valid starting points, but they have different risks.
Custodial vs self-custody wallets
Store your seed phrase offline and securely
If you use a self-custody wallet, write your seed phrase on paper and store it somewhere safe. Never store it in a photo, email, or cloud document.
Never share your seed phrase or private keys
No legitimate company, support agent, or person will ever ask for your seed phrase. Anyone who does is trying to steal your crypto.
🚨
Avoiding Scams
0/2
If it sounds too good to be true, stop
Guaranteed returns, risk-free investments, and “limited time” opportunities are all red flags. There are no guarantees in crypto.
How to avoid crypto scams
Double-check addresses before sending
Crypto transactions usually cannot be reversed. Always verify the recipient address carefully, and consider sending a small test amount first.
